Step 30: Near miss

880 words. That's it, no lie. I wrote most of it in class, whilst students were working. The rest of the time before that got used up by sundry tasks, but there was an hour or so I could have utilised. 

Still, it's progress. It all adds up. But like the picture says, trying isn't the point. Do or do not.

It's really late, and I performed some poetry this eve. Below is the new piece I did.

This poem is good because it fits into the structure.

It is iambic pentameter.

This poem is good because the rhyme scheme is functional.

AB AB, the whole way baby.

This poem is good because it has metaphors that mix well.

This poem is good because every mark of punctuation...is chosen with care.

This poem is good because I learned it in school.

This poem is good because we talked about it for a long time.

This poem is good because it is very old, 
And how can it not be good, if it is so old and yet we still say its good?

This poem is good because it contains themes that can be identified as post-colonial.

This poem is good because it is very ambiguous.

This poem is good because it was written by a good poet.

This poem is good because it's a Penguin Classic.

This poem is good because I heard it quoted in Interstellar.

This poem is good because its easy to remember some of the good lines.

This poem is good because the poet committed suicide.

This poem is good because it is difficult to explain to you, how good it is.

This poem is good because people who don't read poems don't get it.

This poem is good because I have annotated it a lot.

I can't wait to tell the poet all the reasons about their poem.

This poem is a box, I have learned the key, 
The box is so beautiful; trust me.
This poem is so good we can talk about what's inside,
We can each take a peek, and take our goodly time.
This poem is so good, I can explain to you why.

I bet every poet hopes, that such people will say their poem is so good, for such good reasons.

Then we can poems how we write poems, so that they be so good also.
